Curious about a typical day at Bridging the Gap Learning Academy? We offer new and exciting experiences that build on the previous school year and promote students' enthusiasm for learning. Our summer academy is divided into two parts:
Students focus on academic skills, including reading, writing, science, and math, in grade-level groups. Activities are dedicated to building and retaining skills based on the grade-level standards of Jefferson County Public Schools (JCPS). Our instructors and volunteers work with students on the designated curriculum. A nourishing lunch is provided before the afternoon activities.
After lunch, kids get the chance to release some energy with indoor and outdoor games. We also have weekly recreational activities or "Vision Trips" to local places of interest. Additionally, students have opportunities to participate in special projects and friendly STEAM-based competitions.
